CHI 2026 Roundup
For CHI 2026, the Good Life Lab has two papers and a Best Paper award to share!
We are happy to announce that our two submissions to CHI got accepted, one of which was honored with a Best Paper Award!
Henrik and Janne published “Stop Fiddling With Your Phone and Go Offline: People Experiencing High Information Overload Have Sparse Online Sessions”, a large scale observational study over seven months, investigating web traces and survey measures, showing avenues on how we can make better digital well-being tools that could nudge users towards healthier, less overload prone, interactions with technology.
Meanwhile, Jaakko, Jan, Heidi, and Janne got a Best Paper award for “‘An Experience That Could Not be Found Anywhere Else’: Resonance as an Explanatory Concept for Player Experience Research and Game Design”, a qualitative survey on what it means when player experiences resonate and how we could use the concept for future player experience research.
You can read both papers right now, by clicking on the images below! We will present both works at the Nordic Pre-CHI as well as, of course, CHI proper in Barcelona. If you are around at either, feel free to chat with us about the works or reach out via email.
